Dr. Rudd is a Certified Gottman Method Couples Therapist, a Clinical Fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), and an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. With over 20 years of experience working with couples, she integrates evidence-based practices with a compassionate and balanced approach.
Dr. Rudd provides couples with a clear roadmap for healing and growth—combining practical skills, education, and structured exercises to help partners move through gridlock, rebuild connection, and create a more passionate, supportive, and fulfilling relationship.

The assessment is an in-depth exploration of the individual and relational factors that shape your partnership. The first session is attended by both partners and focuses on understanding what brings you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. From there, we’ll take a meaningful look back at your relationship history—reflecting on how it began, evolved, and where it may have become stuck.
Next, Dr. Rudd meets with each partner individually to better understand your unique experiences, perspectives, and personal influences within the relationship. During this time, you’ll also complete the Gottman Connect Relationship Checkup, a comprehensive online assessment that provides valuable insights into your relationship’s strengths and areas for growth.
The process concludes with a feedback and treatment planning session, where Dr. Rudd reviews your results, highlights both individual and shared patterns that affect relationship health, and offers a personalized roadmap for moving forward together in couples therapy.
Dr. Rudd helps couples rebuild their relationship from the ground up, focusing on trust, communication, friendship, and shared meaning. In a supportive and compassionate space, you’ll learn practical skills to navigate conflict, deepen understanding, and strengthen emotional connection. Between sessions, you’ll apply these strategies in daily life—turning insight into lasting change.
Research suggests that, following the initial assessment, about twelve couples sessions often lead to new perspectives, noticeable changes in communication, and a renewed sense of connection. As therapy progresses, couples typically begin spacing sessions to every other week, monthly, or as needed for ongoing support and relationship “tune-ups.” Dr. Rudd’s approach helps couples create sustainable change while building the confidence to maintain growth beyond the therapy room.
